Thomas fears frosty homecoming
Wales captain Gareth Thomas fears a backlash against his side after they were eliminated from the World Cup by a shock 38-34 defeat to Fiji.
Thomas’ side have struggled to find their best form and were eliminated after Graham Dewes scored a late try to put the South Sea islanders in front.
Thomas told ITV Sport: “Our defence wasn’t up to standard. We turned over the ball in the wrong areas.
“Unfortunately, we’re going home but we’re going home proud Welshmen. We tried our best but we’ll probably get beaten down for this.”
