Ireland's Simon Best is facing further medical tests after being hospitalised last night while socialising with his team-mates.

The Ulster prop was taken to hospital after developing a loss of sensation down his right side, along with a mild headache and a difficulty in speaking.

He underwent several tests, including an MRI scan, an angiogram and a CT scan, all of which were repeated this morning.

Best has now been transferred to another hospital for further investigation into the cause of the problem.

No diagnosis has been given, but the player's World Cup is definitely over.

Munster prop Tony Buckley has been called into the squad as a replacement, while Bryan Young will take Best's place on the bench for Sunday's Pool D showdown with Argentina in Paris.
