Bortolami doubtful for Azzurri

Italy captain Marco Bortolami is an injury doubt for Saturday’s crucial World Cup Pool C match against Scotland in St Etienne.

The Gloucester lock has hamstring and neck problems, and he is yet to train this week.

His fitness will be monitored ahead of the Azzurri’s team announcement, which will be made tomorrow morning.

Coach Pierre Berbizier has seen Bortolami’s fellow lock Santiago Dellape, as well as flanker Josh Sole and winger Marko Stanojevic, return to training ahead of the winner-takes-all clash against the Scots at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.
