Pumas back home after USA training camp

Argentina have returned to Buenos Aires to resume their preparations for the World Cup after a 14-day training camp in the United States.

The Pumas spent the fortnight at the Andrew’s Institute in Pensacola, Florida and London Irish centre Gonzalo Tiesi revealed they were still working hard on their return.

He said: “We’ll do two shifts of training every day from Mondays to Fridays.

“We’ll do all physical work, gym work, and play with the ball.

“We had two tiring weeks, but results were extremely positive. It was a good physical stage to face what is coming up.”

Tiesi added that the camp in the United States helped him get over a leg injury he suffered at the beginning of the year.

He said: “My right leg is perfect and I can train normally – I’m really happy for that.

“Personally, I’ve had more benefits from this camp because I needed a good pre-season to be stronger physically.”
