Loffreda names preliminary squad
Argentina head coach Marcelo Loffreda has named a preliminary squad of 41 players ahead of the World Cup in France.
Despite Loffreda initially stating they would be 50 players, he decided to name 41, from which he will have to pick the official 30 to play at the prestigious tournament this year.
Stade Francais players Lucas Borges, Ignacio Corleto, Agustin Pichot, Rodrigo Roncero and Juan Martin Hernandez are part of this squad, having claimed the Top 14 title in France.
Genaro Fessia and Marcelo Bosch can be considered surprises on the list, as well as absentees Juan de la Cruz Fernandez Miranda and Miguel Avramovic.
Meanwhile, eight of the 41 play in different regional leagues in Argentina.
They are Nicolas Vergallo, Horacio Agulla, Genaro Fessia, Pablo Gambarini, Hernan Senillosa, Esteban Lozada, Federico Serra and Alberto Vernet Basualdo.
