Rob Connolly turned in a man-of-the-match performance at Templeville Road today as his two tries inspired Greystones to their first Division Two title.

In the battle of the two promoted sides, 'Stones emerged victorious despite having to endure two periods of extra-time. Belvedere's Andy Dunne landed an injury-time penalty to make it 16-16 after 80 minutes' play.

Steve Rocket's early try helped 'Belvo to a 13-6 interval lead, but flanker Connolly scored before half-time and was on target again in extra-time as the Wicklow men, helped by further tries from Stephen Cranley and Darren McKenna, came out on top.
