Australia have been placed in a super pool with England, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea for the group stages of the 2008 Rugby League World Cup.

The format, designed to avoid a repeat of the one-sided matches of the 2000 event, sees the other six teams battling for one semi-final spot from two pools of three.
