Ronan O’Gara scored all of Ireland’s points as they led Scotland at the midway point of their RBS 6 Nations Championship clash at Murrayfield.

Stand-off O’Gara and Scotland captain Chris Paterson traded penalties during a first quarter dominated by the visitors.

O’Gara then crossed for the first try of the match after charging down Dan Parks’ attempted clearance and added a conversion as well as a penalty just before the break.
