Connacht look forward to Sportsground return

Connacht coach Michael Bradley said that his side are looking forward to their first home match in two months in the Magners League when they take on Border Reivers on March 2.

The disjointed nature of the fixture list has meant that Connacht have not had a game in the competition at the Sportsground since taking on Munster on New Year’s Eve.

The Connacht coach said his side’s failure to put the Ospreys away when they were on top in the first half cost his side dearly.

Bradley said that Connacht should have pulled away in the opening half and ended the Ospreys’ 14-match unbeaten run in all competitions at the ground this season.

“We were pleased with our first-half performance when we took the game to them but it was disappointing not to reflect this on the scoreboard,” said Bradley.

He said that the Ospreys' try just before the break was crucial.

“Conceding that try was a big body-blow and it gave them a platform to build on in the second half.

"They were struggling until then but we did not have them put away by then.

“We have Borders in Galway next and will be targeting that game to get back to winning ways,” said Bradley.
