Jackman gets Ireland gong

Hooker Bernard Jackman continues his remarkable resurgence by being voted the Bank of Scotland (Ireland) Player of the Month for January.

Jackman commented: "I have been pleased with my own form over the last seven or eight weeks in a period where the team, most importantly, have put in some strong performances and got some good results.

"I know that I haven't done myself justice at times over the last year but I always had faith in my own ability and I've just been delighted to get a few games under my belt.

"We're entering a really important phase in the season and I'm delighted to receive this award. It's great to get this recognition from the Leinster supporters," he said.
