ERC launch investigation into Brennan incident

Tournament organisers European Rugby Cup Limited today opened an investigation into yesterday's off-field incident involving Trevor Brennan at Stade Ernest Wallon.

ERC disciplinary officer Roger O’Connor has contacted Toulouse and Ulster requesting full details, while also asking for reports from match officials and broadcasters at the game.

A decision on any misconduct complaints against players or the clubs involved will be made following O’Connor’s investigation.

Ulster have released a press statement concerning the incident. It reads:

"Ulster Rugby has made the organisers of the Heineken Cup, the ERC, aware of an off-the-field incident involving the Toulouse player Trevor Brennan.

"During the match between Toulouse and Ulster in Toulouse on Sunday, 21st January, Brennan left the playing enclosure and physically assaulted a member of the Ulster travelling support.

"Ulster Rugby will be submitting a formal report to assist ERC in their investigation of this serious matter."
