Cork Constitution maintained their run at the top of the Division One table as Richie Lane landed four penalties at Dooradoyle.

Con gained revenge for last week’s Munster Senior Cup final defeat, despite a 62nd-minute try from Garryowen scrum half Gerry Hurley.

With Conor Kilroy in the sin bin, Hurley landed a 33rd-minute penalty but Lane handed Con a 6-3 lead with the last kick of the first half.

The sides were level again when Garryowen’s Alan Kingsley dropped a goal, and although Hurley was put over by Anthony Kavanagh, two further Lane penalties saved the day for Con.
