Blackrock College lifted the Jerry Fogarty trophy at Belfield as they ran in five tries against their south Dublin rivals UCD.

‘Rock went on a second half rampage after UCD had controlled the first 40 minutes – Ian Keatley and Kevin McLaughlin both got over for tries.

The students led 18-7 at half-time, but centre Fergus McFadden could add a single penalty in the second period.

Andy O’Neill and Leinster’s Des Dillon (2) both crossed the hosts’ whitewash, adding to Michael Berne’s first half score. A late penalty try confirmed ‘Rock’s position in sixth.
