Clontarf leapfrogged Dolphin in the Division One table as they got the better of the Corkmen at Musgrave Park.

‘Tarf scored a try in each half – lock Alan Trenier and replacement hooker Bernard Jackman were both on target – to go sixth in the standings.

Dolphin suffered a massive blow when their Munster number eight James Coughlan was forced off after 34 minutes with a shoulder injury.

Trenier’s try had the visitors 7-6 in front at the break and although Dolphin, with Barry Keeshan kicking three penalties, played well into the wind in the second half, there was no comeback.

Scorers:

Dolphin: Pens: Barry Keeshan 3

Clontarf: Tries: Alan Trenier, Bernard Jackman; Con: Matt Nethery; Pens: Nethery 2
