Coventry’s Samoan international Apoua Stewart has received a two-year ban after testing positive for the banned stimulant ephedrine.

The full-back gave a positive sample to testers from UK Sport after Coventry’s National League one game against Rotherham at Butts Park Arena on September 9.

Stewart admitted the offence when he appeared before a Rugby Football Union disciplinary panel in Bristol.

His suspension runs from September 27 this year to September 27, 2008.

The disciplinary panel comprised Christopher Quinlan (chairman), Anthony Davies and Julian Widdowson.
