First league win for Clontarf
Clontarf 19 Lansdowne 10
Clontarf secured their first win of the league season as flanker Declan Quinn scored their only try at Castle Avenue today.
Quinn rumbled over just past the midpoint of the first half as ‘Tarf moved into a 7-3 lead, but Leinster’s Niall Ronan replied soon after, going in under the posts as Lansdowne went in 16-10 down at the break.
Clontarf full-back Darragh O’Shea, who tallied up 11 points, kicked the only points of the second half from a 35-metre penalty. Out-half Peter O’Brien was also on target with a sweetly struck drop goal in the first half.
