Teen Fitzgerald in line for Leinster debut
Nineteen-year-old Luke Fitzgerald could be in line for his competitive debut as Leinster coach Michael Cheika has left a vacancy at left wing for Leinster's assignment at Edinburgh in Murrayfield on Friday.
Cheika has to decide whether UCD's Ross McCarron or Fitzgerald will line up from the first whistle. Either way, the loser in this two-horse race will have the consolation of a place on the bench.
Cheika has already given Magner's League debuts to six players in Michael Berne, Chris Whitaker, Harry Vermaas, Trevor Hogan, Owen Finegan and Stephen Keogh. Kieran Lewis will win his 50th cap for the province.
Ireland Under-21 loose forward Sean O'Brien could be the surprise of the season. He has shown massive progress in a short time and will start on the bench.
Johnny Wickham will have to move up to the bench if Reggie Corrigan can not get over a knock.
