White ponders South Africa's fly-half options

South Africa coach Jake White will make a late decision over his fly-half for the Tri-Nations clash against New Zealand at the Westpac Trust stadium in Wellington on Saturday.

White has bracketed 20-year old Meyer Bosman and new arrival Butch James for the number 10 jersey and will not decide until Saturday which of the two will start.

White has made five changes to the side beaten 49-0 by Australia in Brisbane last weekend – South Africa’s second heaviest defeat ever.

Jaco van der Westhuyzen makes way for either Bosman or James while Fourie du Preez replaces Ricky Januarie at scrum-half.

The half-back pairing were poor against Australia and the move will bring some comfort among South African fans.

In the loose trio, White has brought in open-side specialist Solly Tybilika ahead of Joe van Niekerk while Jacques Croje replaces Pierre Spies – the latter having made his debut in the Brisbane Test.

Albert van der Berg comes in at lock for the injured Danie Rossouw, who has returned home with a hamstring problem.

Winger Akona Ndungane, who was injured in Monday’s practice session, was named in the team on the right wing.
