Connacht have announced the signing of Samoan-born flanker Ray Ofisa from Otago.

Connacht have announced the signing of Samoan-born flanker Ray Ofisa from Otago.

The 26-year-old loose forward has played in the NPS for the last three years and he will further strengthen the back row for next season.

Connacht utility back Darren Yapp has recovered from a hamstring injury to be passed fit for the Celtic League tie with The Newport Gwent Dragons at the Sportsground on Easter Saturday.

Former Ireland Under-21 back John Hearty is also back in training and could be back in action as early as the Friday night home tie with Edinburgh next month.

The centre has made a swift recovery after sustaining a broken jaw in the defeat to Leinster.
