The Munster ladies U21 and senior teams are set to play two games against a top American touring side this week in Cork.

The Munster U21 side will face the Penn State University Women’s team at Woodleigh Park tomorrow, at the grounds of Highfield RFC (kick-off at 4.30pm).

It will be the first outing this season for the U21 side, who are led by Ballincollig scrum half Claire Rigney.

On Thursday night, the Munster senior side will face the same opposition at Cork Con’s grounds at 7.30pm. The seniors will be led for the first time by Highfield centre Deirdre Lynch.

Penn State are one of the strongest Varsity teams in the US, and top players include Kirsten Aerts and Claudia Braymer who were involved in the national team’s recent tour of Ireland.

Last year two players were named in the Women’s collegiate All-Americans first team, chosen from a pick of 10,000 players.
