Wallace try gives Ireland narrow lead at break
Ireland 11 Wales 5
Ireland took a narrow lead into half-time of their RBS Six Nations Championship clash at Lansdowne Road after weathering a stormy opening from Wales.
Last season’s Grand Slam champions raced ahead when winger Mark Jones crossed in the eighth minute, but Wales could not add to their score, despite dominating the first half hour.
Ireland – the Six Nations’ slowest starters – hit back through flanker David Wallace and the boot of Ronan O’Gara and by the end of the half they were in control.
