Draw made for AIB cup semi-finals
St. Mary's reward for beating Terenure in the AIB Cup this afternoon is a daunting semi-final trip to Garryowen.
The draw for the semi-finals, made in the Terenure clubhouse after Mary's 35-21 victory, has pitted John McWeeney's side against the Division One pacesetters, with Dooradoyle the venue on Saturday, February 25.
The other semi-final will see Buccaneers entertain high-flying Cork Constitution, who scored six tries in yesterday's 41-13 humbling of Belfast Harlequins, at Dubarry Park.
Mary's captain McWeeney said afterwards: "It's a tough draw for us. Garryowen were unbeaten in the league up until recently and don't give much away at home.
"We played them in Limerick in October and were beaten 15-3, but anything can happen in the cup and we'll hope to put one over them."
AIB CUP SEMI-FINALS:
Garryowen v St. Mary's College
Buccaneers v Cork Constitution
(Ties to be played on Saturday, February 25)
