Scotland head coach Frank Hadden rested three key players in the first training session ahead of the RBS 6 Nations Championship opener against France on Sunday.

Edinburgh Gunners lock Scott Murray and Northampton Saints wing Sean Lamont were suffering from a viral infection.

Both are expected to be available for the game at Murrayfield at the weekend.

Glasgow Warriors prop Euan Murray also missed out after picking up a neck injury in the Celtic League defeat by the Ospreys at the weekend.

However Scotland team doctor James Robson is confident Murray will be available for selection on Sunday.

Hadden will announce his team tomorrow morning.
