Llanelli Scarlets have pledged to slap a life ban on the fan who clashed with Jonah Lomu at Stradey Park.

Llanelli Scarlets have pledged to slap a life ban on the fan who clashed with Jonah Lomu at Stradey Park.

The All Blacks legend was verbally abused by a home supporter, who threw the ball away from the wing, during Cardiff Blues’ 32-13 Celtic League defeat.

Scarlets chief executive Stuart Gallacher was “disgusted” by the incident and has promised to act promptly.

“I have seen video footage of the incident and I’m shocked and disgusted at what I saw,” he said.

“We are confident that we will be able to identify the fan who will not be welcome at Stradey Park again.”

Gallacher has written to Lomu to apologise for the touchline incident, and the region have also promised to review their stewarding policies which saw the fan get on to the touchline unchallenged.
