Cardiff heaped more misery on the Ospreys as they ran out easy winners at the Liberty Stadium.

It was the Blues’ first victory on the road against a fellow Welsh side since regions were introduced in 2003.

Their inspiration was Jamie Robinson, who helped create two tries with blistering running in midfield, while Mike Phillips shone from scrum-half.

On the eve of his appearance before a disciplinary hearing in Glasgow, on charges of violent conduct, Gavin Henson had an ineffectual game.

Deiniol Jones, Chris Czekaj and Craig Morgan claimed tries for the visitors, with Nick Robinson bagging 13 points with the boot.

For the Ospreys, Shaun Connor kicked two penalties and Adrian Cashmore one.

The Blues turned around with a 14-6 advantage after repeatedly punching holes in the Ospreys defence.

Jones went over for the first score on seven minutes after Mike Phillips, Morgan, Robin Sowden-Taylor and Rhys Williams had opened the home rearguard.

Then Jamie Robinson picked a perfect line and sent out a flighted pass for wing Czekaj to dash across.

The Ospreys were strangely off colour and could have conceded three more tries before the break had Czekaj’s finishing been better.

He was kept out brilliantly on the stroke of half-time by Shane Williams, who managed to get his body under Czekaj as the youngster dived across the line.

But the Blues were not to be denied. More outstanding work from Phillips and Jamie Robinson sent in Morgan, and the Ospreys could not respond.
