Leilan try seals UL Bohs win
County Carlow 8 UL Bohemians 12
County Carlow and UL Bohemians swapped positions in AIB League Division One as the Limerick students came from behind to steal a win at Oak Park.
Bohs moved from 15th place up to 12th as replacement centre Sean Leilan’s converted try on 62 minutes proved to be the only score of a dour second half.
Carlow’s game fell apart in the second forty as their pack coughed up five lineouts and they failed to build on full-back Ross Barbour’s early try.
The midlaners went 8-0 up thanks to a Greg Jacob penalty and Barbour’s effort but a Bohs’ try for Cathal Garvey just before the break kept them ominously in the hunt.
Leilan’s close range score, converted by Fergal Lawlor, then set up the Limerick side’s second win just past the hour mark.
Scorers: Carlow: Try: Ross Barbour; Pen: Greg Jacob
UL Bohs: Tries: Cathal Garvey, Sean Leilan; Con: Fergal Lawlor
