Four-try Garryowen go level at top
UL Bohemians 12 Garryowen 28
Garryowen hit Limerick rivals UL Bohemians for four tries in today’s 28-12 AIB League Division One win at Thomond Park.
Paul Cunningham’s men moved level with Shannon at the top of the table thanks to this bonus point victory.
Although the result did hang in the balance with Garryowen just 14-7 clear at the break.
Bohs’ left winger Ian Hanley crossed for a try on the half-hour to pull the home side closer after both winger Andrew Finn and scrum half Gerry Hurley had scored early tries for Garryowen.
However, Cunningham’s side put the result beyond doubt when Munster-contracted centre Rob Henderson and hooker Damien Varley crashed over for further Garryowen tries in the second half.
Full-back Conor Kilroy converted both for an eight-point haul while Hanley notched his second try, which went unconverted, in the closing stages.
