It is touch and go whether Ulster out-half talisman David Humphreys will be ready for their Celtic League opener against Cardiff on Friday week.

The Ireland international damaged his calf in the facile Friday night win over Rotherham Titans.

"Somebody landed on the back of the calf in a tackle, which was a trauma rather than a pull which is good news," said coach Mark McCall of Humphreys' injury.

"Time will tell but we are fairly hopeful that he will be ready for Cardiff (in two weeks time)."
