Wilkinson leaves hospital after appendix problem

Jonny Wilkinson has been released from hospital in Japan after suffering an inflamed appendix and could make a swift return to action.

Wilkinson’s club, Newcastle, have not ruled him out of Saturday’s pre-season friendly against Glasgow at Kingston Park.
