England looking Goode to face Pumas

Andy Goode has witnessed the effects of Argentina's destructive scrummaging at first hand - but believes England's pack has the muscle to win the forward battle in tomorrow's Churchill Cup final.

The Leicester fly-half played against the Pumas earlier in his career and is confident his current team-mates will be a match for their opponents' physical power.

He said: "I played against Argentina at Under-21 level. It was a tough game and we ended up drawing 25-25. Our forward pack got torn to shreds.

"They always have a very powerful scrummage, but so have we at the moment. It will be interesting to see what happens. Perry Freshwater and Stuart Turner have looked very strong in the front row.

"Lee Mears did a lot of ball carrying when he came on and Louis Deacon has been playing well for Leicester all season. He's a hard man. They're the sort of guys you need against Argentina."
