Elwood to be honoured at gala ball

Retiring Irish rugby star Eric Elwood is to be honoured with a gala ball in the Radisson SAS Hotel & Spa in Galway on September 3.

Elwood is officially calling time on his rugby career. The 35-time capped point scorer has appeared in an Irish record of 175 provincial matches.

The O2 Eric Elwood Testimonial Ball will see funds raised from the night go to the Galway Hospice.
