Irish duo sign for Wasps

Zurich Premiership champions Wasps have unveiled the double signing of Irish backs Jeremy Staunton, from Harlequins, and Eoin Reddan, from Munster.

Staunton, who can play at fly-half or full-back, joins after a year at the Stoop where he struggled to fill the boots of previous Quins kicker Paul Burke.

At 25 he boasts one Irish cap, earned against Samoa in November 2001.

The signing of scrum-half Reddan, 24, comes in the wake of Peter Richards’ departure to Gloucester.

Reddan has Irish under-21 honours but will have to compete with World Cup winner Matt Dawson for the number nine jersey.

The club have also announced that Magners will take over as their new shirt sponsor.

The Irish cider company will have their logo emblazoned across the chest and on the collar of their new kits.
