Smith announces retirement

Scotland and Lions prop Tom Smith has announced his retirement from international rugby.

The 33-year-old Northampton Saints player gained 61 caps over his eight-year international career, with his final cap coming against England in this year’s RBS 6 Nations.

Smith said: “It was a hard decision to make but one that I know is right for me and my family and it’s definitely the right time to retire.”
