Johnson called to face disciplinary panel

Leicester Tigers captain Martin Johnson is to appear before a Rugby Football Union (RFU) disciplinary panel in Coventry next Monday.

The former England captain has been asked to appear after accumulating three yellow cards for foul play this season.

The cards were issued for two offences of striking an opponent in Zurich Premiership matches against Northampton Saints at Welford Road on September 25, and at Franklin’s Gardens on February 26, and for fighting in the game against Saracens at Vicarage Road on Sunday, April 17.
