Dungannon win at Galwegians
Galwegians 12 Dungannon 19
Dungannon scored nineteen unanswered points as they ran out 19-12 winners in a meaningless Division One clash at sun-splashed Crowley Park this afternoon.
Jeremy Davidson's side were completely off-the-boil in the opening exchanges as 'Wegians broke through for two tries by the quarter-hour mark.
Both John Burke and Dave Rogers made it through the 'Gannon cover, and with full-back Patrick Noble converting the second effort, the home side were 12 points to the good.
A searing John McGuckian try - scored from all of 60 metres out - suddenly brought the Tyrone men to life then.
Ireland Under-21 captain Gareth Steenson converted and added the extras to Gillian Carruthers' turnover score just before half-time.
Noble missed a chance to put 'Wegians right back in it on the restart with a 25-metre penalty but he missed it with Dungannon's Rupert West in the sin-bin.
Carruthers eluded the home defence on 75 minutes to grab the winning try in the left corner.
