Quins secure away trip to Garryowen in play-offs

Belfast Harlequins did all they could to secure a home semi-final place but with both Shannon and Garryowen winning, DC Gillespie's side will be away despite their 6-0 Division One defeat of fellow play-off qualifiers Clontarf.

Third-placed 'Quins will meet Garryowen in two weeks' time as they attempt to go one better than last year and make the AIB League final day on Saturday, May 7.

As it was, with headline back duo Ian Humphreys and WP Strauss out injured, it was left to 'Quins XV captain to do the damage at Deramore Park this afternoon.

He kicked two penalties in either half to pick up 'Quins' tenth win, leaving them third and five points behind reigning champions and table-toppers Shannon.
