Ireland lock Paul O’Connell was a relieved man tonight after the Six Nations disciplinary committee left him free to play in Munster’s Heineken Cup quarter-final against Biarritz.

O’Connell was handed a two-week ban after being found guilty of punching Welsh opposite number Robert Sidoli in Saturday’s defeat at the Millennium Stadium.
