Cork Con earn draw against Blackrock

Nothing could split Blackrock College and visitors Cork Constitution in a dour 8-8 AIB League Division One draw at Stradbrook.

With neither kicker performing heroics, and indeed the home side losing full-back Conor Kilroy to the sin-bin, along with Con tighthead prop Jody Danaher - a Leinster Schools Cup medallist with 'Rock - there was little to choose between them in this wind-affected affair.

Kilroy tagged on a penalty to centre Andy O'Neill's try - a sixth of the campaign for the former Bath man - but 'Rock were answered back in fine style as Con youngster Peter O'Brien darted over on the half-hour to leave the sides' level at 8 a-piece at the break.

Con scrum-half Pat McCarthy - who kick an early penalty in the first half - was wayward and out-of-reach in the second, and despite a late dive at the 'Rock line from Jean Vincent-Igarza, Steve McIvor's men held on.
