Italy’s livewire number eight Sergio Parisse was today cited by the independent match comissioner after clashing with Wales fly-half Stephen Jones in Saturday RBS 6 Nations match in Rome.

Parisse has been cited under law 10.4, which states a player must not “stamp or trample” on an opponent and he will face a disciplinary committee on Wednesday February 16.

The same committee, to be chaired by Jeff Blackett, will also hear the case of the Ireland Under-21 scrum half Cillan Willis following his red card against Scotland Under-21 on Friday.
