Clontarf prop Niall Carson scored a bonus-point try in the last action of their Division One tussle with Buccaneers this afternoon, to send them joint-top with Shannon.

Carson's effort added to Dave Moore, Warren O'Kelly and Dave Hewitt scores as Phil Werahiko's side got back on track after their 13-8 set back against 'Rock last weekend.

Buccs started well though, with fly-half Eamon Molloy grabbing an early converted try, however 'Tarf blazed back to a 20-7 half-time lead.

Dave McAllister first notched a penalty, then pack heavyweights Dave Moore and Warren O'Kelly bulldozed through for unconverted tries in a strong reply.

The returning Shane Moore deftly set up fullback Dave Hewitt for Clontarf's third just before the break, not only helping them to their 13-point buffer, but also to the unique feat of becoming only the ninth club in AIL history to score 350 tries.

McAllister and Justin Meagher traded further penalties in a dour second half which saw international referee Alain Rolland send Buccs duo Chris Keane and Niall Smullen to the sin-bin.

Carson's late try, from a close-range lineout drive saw 'Tarf rack up their fourth bonus point of the campaign.
