Vyvyan looks for more from Saracens

Saracens skipper Hugh Vyvyan today admitted his team have so far failed to deliver in the Zurich Premiership this season.

Saracens skipper Hugh Vyvyan today admitted his team have so far failed to deliver in the Zurich Premiership this season.

Vyvyan’s men face a St Stephen's Day clash against London rivals Harlequins at Vicarage Road, the first league game in charge for new head coach Steve Diamond.

They need victory to keep them in the mid-table pack, ahead of a testing New Year’s Day encounter with Bath.

“If I had to sum up the season so far in one line, it would be that we have promised much, but so far failed to deliver,” said Vyvyan.

“We had good early wins against Wasps and Worcester, but then lost our way a little bit. We realise that we have to get better.

“We’ve played well in patches in games, but then have been our own worst enemies with mistakes that have cost us. We need a consistent level of performance throughout the 80 minutes.”
