Buccs move third after win over Dungannon
Buccaneers 12 Dungannon 10
Buccaneers moved up to third in the AIB League Division One after fly-half David Connellan kicked them to a win over Dungannon at Dubarry Park.
Connellan, who made his first start of the season last weekend in the 23-21 defeat of Carlow, hammered over his fourth from four just one minute into the second half to hand the Pirates their fourth win of the season.
Dungannon managed to nip into a 10-3 lead after 27 minutes though, with Ireland Under 21 Gareth Steenson directing issues at number 10.
His neat grubber kick was touched down by Paul Magee for a converted score, but that was as good as it got for Jeremy Davidson's visitors.
Connellan clipped his second and third penalties over on 35 and 39 minutes to leave Buccs just 10-9 down at the break, and he held his nerve from 35 metres to send 'Gannon home with their third loss.
