First-half tries from Paul Sampson, Ollie Phillips (two) and Ben Gollings put them in the control, with Neil Starling, Gollings and Peter Richards going over in the second period before Phillips completed his hat-trick.

Fiji beat Samoa in their quarter-final, while New Zealand face Argentina – who knocked out the host nation – in the other semi-final.
