Borders have plenty to do

The Borders face a tough next weekend in the return leg of the European Challenge Cup at Netherdale to qualify for the quarter-finals of the competition after losing 44-14 in France today.

All the points for The Borders were scored by stand-off Ally Warnock, who crossed for a try and kicked three penalty goals.

Borders head coach Steve Bates said: “We faded a bit towards the end of the match under pressure from what was a big and very physical side who put the players under the cosh.”
