Battered Boks ring changes

South Africa coach Jake White has made seven changes to his starting XV for the Test against Scotland at Murrayfield on Saturday.

White has shaken up the team following the Springboks’ disappointing display against England last weekend, which was their second consecutive defeat after a loss to Ireland the previous week.

Among those omitted are flankers Schalk Burger and AJ Venter, prop Eddie Andrews, wing Breyton Paulse and centre De Wet Barry. Wing Jean de Villiers was not considered due to an ankle injury.

Prop Gurthro Steenkamp and flank Solly Tyibilika will make their Test debuts while wing Bryan Habana, who came on as a substitute against England and scored, will start his first Test match.

Jaque Fourie comes in for Paulse on the right wing, Wayne Julies replaces Barry at inside centre, Danie Rossouw replaces Venter, Tyibilika replaces Burger, CJ van der Linde replaces Andrews and Steenkamp starts ahead of Os du Randt, who is on the bench.

There are also four changes on the bench with Danie Coetzee, Jacques Cronje and Gcobani Bobo coming in for the first time on this tour and Gaffie du Toit returning to the match 22.
