Van der Westhuyzen fit for Springboks
South Africa fly-half Jaco van der Westhuyzen has been declared fit to play in tomorrow’s Test against Ireland at Lansdowne Road.
The wound on one of Van der Westhuyzen’s fingers, damaged in the Test match against Wales, has healed sufficiently to allow him to play with two of his fingers strapped together and wearing a protective glove.
“He’ll be playing tomorrow,” White told www.sarugby.net. “The wound has healed so Jaco will run out in the No 10 jersey and we have Gaffie du Toit and Jean de Villiers on the bench to cover for him in case that wound opens.”
