IRFU shells out €90,000 to schools and clubs

The IRFU has revealed payments of more than €90,000 to schools and clubs as a reward for the development of young players that progress to the professional game.

The IRFU has revealed payments of more than €90,000 to schools and clubs as a reward for the development of young players that progress to the professional game.

They include provincial players that have represented Ireland at different levels from Schools to Under 21. The players are all on full-time contracts, have played for their province in at least eight occasions and have had their contracts renewed for a second year.

The Players and their Schools and Clubs selected as part of the rewards programme are:

Roger Wilson: RBAI, Dublin University, Belfast Harlequins.

David Blaney: Terenure College, UCD.

Brendan Burke: Barnhall.

Shane Jennings: St Mary s College (school), St Mary s College (club).

Adrian Clarke: ALSAA, Clontarf

John O Sullivan: Newbridge College, Tralee IT, Garryowen

Conor O’Loughlin: Marist College Athlone, St Sarans Athlone, Buccaneers.

Conor McPhilips: Templeogue College, St Mary s College.

Mossie Lawlor: Ard Scoil Ris, Shannon.
