Wales and British and Irish Lions living legend Robert Howley will finish his career by leading out his club, London Wasps, for their Zurich Premiership outing at home to NEC Harlequins on Friday night.

A wrist injury forced Howley to reveal on Monday that he will have to retire from the game with immediate effect. Wasps intend to give him a heroes farewell by also making a special presentation on Friday.

"Rob has given us two seasons of absolute joy," said Wasps skipper Lawrence Dallaglio.

Howley won 59 caps for Wales, 22 as captain, and toured twice with the Lions - to South Africa in 1997, and Australia four years later.
