Garryowen continue winning ways
Co Carlow 10 Garryowen 24
Garryowen continued their unbeaten start to the 2004/05 season as they ran in three tries in this win at Co Carlow.
The Limerick side enjoyed the best of the opening half at Oak Park, striking through centre Ray Niland first and then former Munster Under 21 flanker Anthony Kavanagh on their way to a 14-0 break lead.
Carlow, currently under financial pressure, made a fight of it in the second half - and came back to 14-10 down as right winger Ross Jackson sprinted over on 51 minutes, and backs coach-cum-fly-half Richie Murphy converted and tagged on a penalty.
Garryowen number 10 Gerry Hurley added the extras to back row Peter Malone's try, and added a late penalty as the visitors bagged the points.
