Leinster sign new Kiwi out-half
Leinster have confirmed the signing of New Zealand out-half David Holwell, just days ahead of the Heineken Cup deadline.
The 29-year-old Hurricanes and Wellington player has linked up with the province today, and is due to undergo a medical.
Holwell's 613-point Super 12 haul is a Hurricanes record, and he becomes the third Wellington star to visit these shores in recent times, following in the footsteps of Munster's Christian Cullen and Ulster centre Paul Steinmetz.
Leinster CEO Michael Dawson said: "I am delighted to welcome David to Leinster.
"He will bring a wealth of experience and enhance levels of competition within the squad ahead of our Celtic League and Heineken Cup campaigns."
Holwell will certainly boost new coach Declan Kidney's options at number 10, with Argentine Felipe Contepomi also available, and David McAllister and Brian O'Meara sharing the position so far in Leinster's unbeaten Celtic League run.
